Scholarships

The Columbia Institute is committed to supporting lifelong learning opportunities that benefit all segments of society. Still, we know that the skyrocketing cost of education makes it difficult to return to the classroom for further learning, retraining, and/or skills advancement. That’s why we offer the following lifelong learning scholarship opportunities:

David Podworny Memorial Scholarship

Valued at $1,000 per year, this bursary is intended for those studying or planning to study Telecommunications Trades & Labour Studies at accredited public institutions in BC (Canada) or Washington State (USA).

Dennis McGann Bursary

This one-time bursary, worth up to $1,000 is designed for those studying or planning to study Communications who demonstrate a commitment to the issues and actions affecting working people.

TWU, USW Local 1944 Scholarship

The TWU, USW Local 1944 offers one-time educational grant consisting of four scholarships valued at $1000 each and three scholarships valued at $750 each. TWU-USW Local 1944 scholarship is exclusive to, and intended only for, the children of their active members.
